3.A. Overview of Schools FIRST
Description:
The Texas Education Agency developed the Schools FIRST (Financial Accountability Rating System of Texas) financial accountability system for Texas school districts in response to Senate Bill 875 of the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999. The primary goal of Schools FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts’ financial resources, a goal made more significant due to the complexity of accounting associated with Texas’ school finance system.

3.B. Italy ISD's Rating for 2014
Description:
Italy ISD received a Superior Achievement rating of 70, which is the highest score. This is the second year in a row that Italy ISD has achieved this rating.
