Description: 
Any citizen who would like to address the Board will be able to do so as the item on the regular agenda.  Comments will be limited to 2 minutes per subject.  If further time is needed, concerns should be addressed to the Superintendent.  Personnel matters will not be discussed in a public meeting.
Items that appear under the heading Routine and Regular Business will not be discussed or comments taken unless it is requested that they be removed from that category and placed on the regular agenda.  Action on Routine and Regular Business will be acted upon with one motion and one vote.
Discussion:  Genoveva Gallegos - Tobacco free schools - 24/7 adopt and implement tobacco free schools. 2016 last update - missing a few guidelines - need to update to meet  - 24/7 signage; would like to have it updated.

Discussion:  Ms. Shan - Daniel Trujullo with XTO - educators rising $10,000 program and $50,000 additional money. impressive school district especially state wide - amazing leadership this district has. returning students back to school and having them catch up with their school work and everything you do.  Please do not hesitate ot reach out to us if needed. 2) Erik Harrigan - RBC Capital Markets - Financial Plan Discussion - History of assessed valuation - collecting a little more and hope to pay off some early. - history of tax rates - general obiligation bond issued in 2019 - will continue to maintain the service tax rate. GEO bond $4.44; Ed Tech $1.78 and it should continue for the next couple of years.  3 bond outstanding series 2020;  been able to pay early reducing interest costs.  Debt management plan - meeting in April authorize issue of those bonds.  Page 5 - maintained tax rate $6.30, issuing of bonds will continue that rate.  upcoming elections - district have 2 mill levy and hb33 - sb9 election 2019 - next in 2023. HB33 - Nov. 21 to get on the 6 year cycle (recommended for District) april - notice of sale will be provided at that board meeting. Market Update - rates are still very attractive even though they went low during the pandemic. Board Elction resolution shoud take place in June to be ready for November election.

BPA - Terry Carrera - Reognize BPA students and Chapter - Names BPA State Champion - 2nd year in a row! - membership involvment, community service, social media presesence is just a few of the things recognized.

Middle School Transition - Amy Coll and Andrea Edmonson - reorganiation of middle schools - meeting weekly for the last year.  At Alta Vista - sports will be a change - adding 7th graders to that campus - hiring athletic coordination onlly 7th grade at that school. - having the same equipoment and same opportunties at both schools .   committed to collaboratig between the schools and will work togher to keep allthe classes the same; become stronger. reviewed data; increasing instruction time. Honors courses research - Middle School Elective Choices - based on 6th , 7th and 8th options.

Superintendent's Report - update board and community - timeline - in January meeting we were only talking about starting hybrid, bring kids back instead of transition, very proud of how flexible we have been.  looking at bring back elementary kids back after spring break and music. Secretary said we could bring all kids back; March 29, 2020 they will return, we have been ready since day one with the protocols - Health safety officer - all 40 superintendents have asked about that. put is in a better position than other districts.  able to contain outbreaks efficiently.  with more vacine and teachers moved up the list - 179 teachers have been vaccinated; updates every day online check in every day and on that now voluntarily can enter vaccine information. Yellow - test at 12 1/2% of those not vaccinated.   November 23- Eddy -86.7 cases per day - Jan 13, 102.4 cases per day, Feb 8 - 39.2 cases per day per 100,000 Marach 8, 16.7 - last week 5.286 cases per day. - Cases have come down dramatically - masks, 6 feet distance, covid safe practices.  very proud of our district.  social distancing is changing to CDC and World Health - 3 feet is adequate.  It has been a tremendous journey. Tremendous Team!
