The Alexandria Township Board of Education recognizes the value of public comment on educational issues and the importance of allowing members of the public to express themselves on school matters. Thus, the Board shall set aside two twenty minute periods for public comment each meeting. In order to permit the fair and orderly expression of such comment, public participation shall be governed by the following rules: 1. A participant must be recognized by the presiding officer and must preface comments by announcing his/her name, place of residence, and group affiliation, if appropriate. 2. Each statement made by a participant shall be limited to 3 minutes in duration. 3. No participant may speak on the same topic until all others who wish to speak on that topic have been heard. 4. All statements shall be directed to the presiding officer; no participant may address Board members individually. |

Only overnight stays are eligible for meal reimbursement. Mileage, meals and lodging shall be in accordance with NJ Statues, Code, and NJ Department of Treasury Guidelines. OMB Mileage Reimbursement Rate is $0.47. |

RESOLUTION AWARDING AND CONFIRMING EMERGENCY CONTRACT AWARD FOR SERVICES TO ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP BOARD OF EDUCATION WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7 and Board Policy 6424 authorize a school official to issue a contract without public advertising or bids when an emergency affecting the health or safety of occupants of school property requires the immediate delivery of goods or the performance of services; and WHEREAS, on or around July 3, 2023, a sewer line in Alexandria Township Middle School suffered several breaches, creating both property damage and health and safety risks; and WHEREAS, in response to this situation, the Interim School Business Administrator certified an emergency existed and remedial action was required by law; and WHEREAS, after performing all necessary due diligence, on July 24, 2023, Interim School Business Administrator issued an emergency contract to De Sapio Construction, Inc. to resolve the danger to the health and safety of the Alexandria Township School Community; and WHEREAS, the Board Attorney, on behalf of the Administrative Principal, notified the Executive County Superintendent of Schools of the need to award an emergency contract. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Alexandria Township Board of Education to approve and confirm the emergency contract award pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7, and Board Policy 6424 |
