The Alexandria Township Board of Education recognizes the value of public comment on educational issues and the importance of allowing members of the public to express themselves on school matters. Thus, the Board shall set aside two twenty minute periods for public comment each meeting. In order to permit the fair and orderly expression of such comment, public participation shall be governed by the following rules: 1. A participant must be recognized by the presiding officer and must preface comments by announcing his/her name, place of residence, and group affiliation, if appropriate. 2. Each statement made by a participant shall be limited to 5 minutes in duration. 3. No participant may speak on the same topic until all others who wish to speak on that topic have been heard. 4. All statements shall be directed to the presiding officer; no participant may address Board members individually. |
12. Approve Preliminary 2022-2023 School Budget
Resolved, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent the Alexandria Township Board of Education approves the following resolution. WHEREAS, THE 2022/2023 preliminary budget includes sufficient funds to implement the proposed planning process as described in this district's Annual Report pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:7A-11 and to provide curriculum and instruction which will enable all students to achieve the Core Curriculum Content Standards; WHEREAS: the 2022/2023 preliminary budget is in compliance with the requirements set forth in N.J.A.C. Title 6 and 6A; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Alexandria Township Board of Education approves the 2022/2023 preliminary General Fund Budget in the amount of $10,504,810 and authorizes its submission to the Hunterdon County Superintendent of Schools for approval as follows: Appropriations General Fund Total : $10,504,810 Tax Levy : $9,289,421 Special Revenue Fund : $307,164 Total Budget: $10,817,974 Travel Allowance BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the maximum travel allowance for the 2022/2023 school year shall be established at $80,000. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools that the Board approve the transfers for the months ending February 28, 2022 as submitted by the Superintendent, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:22-8-2. to accept the monthly financial reports of the Board Secretary and the Treasurer of School Moneys for the month ending February 28, 2022 in compliance with N.J.A.C.6:20-2.13(3) that the Board of Education certify that no major account or fund has been overexpended and that as of this report sufficient funds are available to meet the District's financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools that the Board accept the certification of the School Business Administrator, as required by N.J.A.C.6:20-2.13(D), that no line item account has been over expended as of February 28, 2022, and that as of this date sufficient funds are available to meet the District's financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. |

RESOLVED upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of the Alexandria Township Board of Education approves the following list of requests for employee travel in accordance with the School District Accountability Act. Only overnight stays are eligible for meal reimbursement. Mileage, meals, and lodging reimbursements shall be in accordance with NJ Statute, Code, and NJ Department of Treasury Guidelines. Resolved upon the recommendation of the Superintendent that the Board approve the attached Trash Pick up Schedule effective July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2024 at a cumulative total of $15,582.24 to be paid monthly to Delaware Valley Regional High School. |
13.G.3) Approve ACFR/Financial Audit 2021
RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Alexandria Township Board of Education approve the annual ACFR/Financial Audit for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021, as prepared by the firm of Canone & Company, P.A. and acknowledges that there were two recommendations. |

Resolved upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Alexandria Township Board of Education approve Sycamore International to recycle outdated electronics at a reimbursement of $9,194.30. |
13.G.5) Accept State Aid 2022-2023 (FY23)
Resolved upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board accepts the 2022-23 State Aid in the amount of $1,065,389 minus $21,988 adjustment due to an Assessment for Dept Service on SDA Funding adjusting the total amount to $1,043,401. Resolved upon the recommendation of the Superintendent the Alexandria Township Board of Education approves May 5, 2022, to conduct the Public Hearing of the 2022-23 Annual School District Budget. The meeting will be conducted at 7:00 PM. The Board will conduct regular business immediately following the Public Hearing. |
