VII. Superintendent and/or School Board Member Report

Goal Area 1 - Academics:  All learners will continuously demonstrate academic growth.

Goal Area 2 - Safety:  We will provide a safe and secure learning environment for all.

Goal Area 3 - Equity:  We will provide a positive, inclusive, and equitable environment for all.

Goal Area 4 - Communication:  We will improve communication and strengthen relationships both internally and externally.

Goal Area 5 - Finances:  We will advocate to increase the financial resources of the Corporation to provide an outstanding school environment and opportunities for our students, staff, and community.

VIII. Professional Development

VIII.A. We recommend Chris Bajmakovich attend the IHSWA( Indiana High School Wrestling Association) 2023 Wrestling Coaching Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on February 19, 2023, in Carmel, Indiana with expenses paid out of the Education Fund.
 

VIII.B. We recommend Louise Neese and Kim Osteen attend the ISBA ( Indiana State Board Association) Fifth Annual State House Day on February 21, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana with expenses paid from the Operations fund.
 

VIII.C. We recommend Emily Acevez attend the NWIESC (NIESC (Northern Indiana Education Service Center) Multi-Sensory Approach to Phonics on February 28, 2023, in Mishawaka, Indiana, with expenses paid from the Title IIA fund.
 

VIII.D. We recommend Tina Luna, Jodi Garcia, Jennifer Donsbach and Annemarie Goodman attend the Keep Indiana Learning Discipline Reimagined Restorative Readiness Training on April 14, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana, with expenses Title IV fund.
 

VIII.E. Recommend approving the Professional Development items.

IX. Leave/Resignation/Employment
All new employment to Lake Ridge New Tech Schools is contingent upon a cleared Expanded Criminal History Background Check within 30 days and a cleared Expanded Child Protection Index Check within 60 days of effective date.  IC 20-26-2-1.5 and IC 20-26-2-1.3

IX.A. We recommend approving Jenae McKnight’s leave request for leave of absence effective January 11, 2023.

IX.B. We recommend approving Kayla Kurek be employed as an Instructional Aide at Longfellow New Tech Elementary School effective February 14, 2023.

 

IX.C. We recommend Jasmine Dunfee be employed as the McKinny Vento Family Support Assistant at Lake Ridge New Tech Schools effective  February 14, 2023.

 

IX.D. We recommend Maria De Jesus- Sierra be employed as EL Teacher of Record at Longfellow New Tech Elementary School effective February 14, 2023.

 

IX.E. Recommend approval of the Leaves/Resignations/Employment items.

X. New Business

X.A. We recommend approving the transfer of funds from the  Photography Club Extra Curricular  Account to the Student General Extra Curricular Account at Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School.
           
 

X.B. We recommend approving the following fundraisers at Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School:                                                                                         

• February 20, 2023 – March 17, 2023- Dress Down Days for the Chess Club

X.C. We recommend approving the following donations to Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School:                                                   

• January 20, - $500.00 to the Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School Student Bereavement Fund to the New York Life Foundation.

X.D. We recommend approving the 2022-2023 Administrative Assistants and  Administration Raises.
 

X.E. We recommend approving and paying Karen Lee a Math Instructional Coach stipend for continuing her service during the Spring Semester.
 

X.F. We recommend approving and paying a stipend of $300 to the two teachers listed for additional work outside regular hours in WIDA  training for English Language Learners.
 

X.G. We recommend approving and paying a stipend of $60 to the three teachers listed for additional work outside regular hours in PLTW training for the launch of the program.
 

X.H. We are recommending approving and paying a stipend of $300 to the teachers listed for additional work outside regular hours in coursework development in the visual art program.
 

X.I. We recommend approving the following fundraisers, Calumet New Tech High School:                                                                      

• March 06, 2023 – March 23, 2023 – Staff member pie in the face for the Class of 2025 account.

X.J. We recommend approving the following donations at Calumet New Tech High School:                                                                    

• January 26, 2023, in the amount of a $1,000.00 check to the Wrestling Account from Amy Beckham.

• January 30, 2023, in the amount of a $25.00 check to the Cross Country Account from John   D. Hoffmaster.
• February 7, 2023 - 8 books to the Library from DonorsChoose.

X.K. We recommend approving the ratified January 1, 2023- December 31, 2023, clerical contract.
 

X.L. We are recommending approving the Purchase Order over $10,000 for the purchase of the Securly Internet Filtering Renewal.
 

X.M. We are recommending approving the permission to cancel checks that are two or more years old.
 

X.N. We are recommending approving the resolution to transfer funds to the Rainy Day fund.
