Discussion:
Mr. Spivey presented the campus board reports. The elementary school was reported to have had 82 mini-cheerleaders register for the cheer camp and were able to cheer on the bulldogs. There were almost 300 visitors for Grandparents Day. Guests were very complimentary and excited about coming to campus. Mrs. Phillips passed awards to over 200 students for perfect attendance in the first 6 weeks. Red Ribbon Week is October 27–October 31. Daylight savings times is November 2, our Veterans program is November 11, and the annual Thanksgiving Lunch is November 20th.
Middle School has started working on UIL in preparation for the January Competition. The GMS CC girls won the district championship with 5 girls placing in the top ten. The 7th grade girls remain undefeated, and the 8th grade girls have one loss on the season. GT students have been working on the Robotics Design project that will be due to Region 7 by November 19. 35 seniors will be taking the SAT test on October 22nd. GHS had over 30 individuals present on Career Day. Students are very excited about the new computers they received. Braxton Williamson, first-year student, qualified for regional cross-country. He competes tomorrow. The state band competition will be held on October 29 in Waco at Baylor University. Fields of Faith is on Wednesday, October 22 at 7 PM. Varsity Volleyball concludes the regular season on Friday by hosting Elysian Fields. They are co-district champions. The FFA Invitational is on October 27.
