Board Appreciation

Each of the campuses presented the board with various tokens of their appreciation. Mrs. White gave the elementary report. 20 students participated in Christmas on the Square. MOY testing and benchmarks are well underway. GES students participated in Elementary UIL at SFA. Mr. Massey gave the middle school report. UIL competed and performed in the UIL at SFA on January 14. Students competed in Region 21 All Region Clinic at Chapel Hill High School. Students are also competing in the Ft. Worth Stock Show. Basketball is coming to an end. All teams have done well. The first track meet is here on February 24th. 4-H members competed in the Nacogdoches County Food Challenge on January 11th. GMS student council members visited the Garrison Nursing home for Christmas. Mr. Compton gave the High School Report. The HOSA blood drive was on January 15th. Benchmark testing will start tomorrow and continue into next week. Girls & boys' basketball is going well. Currently, the boys are in 5th place in the district and the girls are in 3rd. Powerlifting has begun, and they have a busy schedule this spring. Baseball and Softball have started practicing and scrimmages are scheduled for this week. Golf has their first meet in Nacogdoches on Feb. 10. Cheerleading Tryouts are Wednesday Feb 12. The majorettes and band performed at Winter on the Square. Garrison FFA decorated the WIley Hotel for Christmas. Mrs. Bryan's floral design students have constructed arrangements for board appreciation month.
