Mr. Bruce Simms, owner of the property located at 4220 W. Vienna Road (Parcel No. 18-16-576-009), is requesting approval to allow three buildings to be connected to a single existing sewer tap.

The property currently has one existing sewer connection to the main. The applicant is requesting permission to utilize this existing connection for three buildings rather than installing additional connections. According to discussions with the Chief Deputy Drain Commissioner, the Drain Commissioner's Office would support the use of the existing sewer tap for all buildings, subject to Township approval. The Drain Commissioner's Office noted that requiring additional sewer connections would necessitate digging up M-57 (Vienna Road), which is not advisable.

The Zoning Board of Appeals is being asked to consider whether allowing two additional buildings to share the existing sewer connection is appropriate given the circumstances.

Description:  The applicant is requesting permission to establish a trade school on a 3.32 acre property at 5338 W. Vienna Rd. The ordinance requires trade schools to be located on at least 40 acres and to meet a 100-foot setback requirement. The applicant is asking the Zoning Board of Appeals to grant variances from these standards due to the size and layout of the property.
