Description:  The primary update in this manual is language added on the last page for extenuating circumstances.  The Office of State Auditor Technical Assistance has opined it wouldn't hurt to include the manual in the board minutes, but it would not be necessary if the manual complies with all board policies.  

Description:  Approve Policy ICA to outline procedures to guide the selection of resources, equipment, and supplies for curriculum. 

Description:  Request to omit this policy in accordance with MSBA guidlines. 

Description:  Presenting edits to Policy LAA to include specific information concerning the annual district wide meeting. 

Description:  Presenting HR Agent job description for the Human Resources Department. This position will help streamline productivity and create more efficiency in our department with no extra cost associated. 

Description:  Presenting edits to Policy GGBH that will change the County Office Receptionist position to HR Receptionist Position. This position is created for a savings to our district.

Description:  Board Agenda Personnel Changes for December 2023

Description:  JCSD is aligning our policy to match the MSBA's curriculum development planning policy.

Description:  The purpose of this agreement is to enable the LEA to share Data with Instructure (Mastery Connect and Assessments) so that Instructure can perform research studies using correlational/regression and multilevel model techniques to evaluate the predictive nature and effectiveness of certain Instructure products. 

Description:  Update to the student handbook clearly outlining the discipline process and alternative school placement and due process.  This accompanies the policy changes. 

Description:  These letters are the 23-24 sy School Improvement Grant 1003a Identification letters from MDE Office of School Improvement, which are required notifications to be acknowledged by the Jackson County School Board.  Since 2017, we have only had 5 schools identified; however, we have 6 schools identified this year, which are as follows: ECMS, SMMS, VMS, SMHS, SMUE, SMEE.
 

Description:  Approve change order for SMMS  HVAC Upgrades- the contract is changed as follows: Contingency in the amount of $200,000.00 shall be removed from the project and credited to the owner.

Description:  This project will upgrade the current dugouts for the Vancleave Middle & High School baseball program.

Description:  This service order will begin the process of the geotechnical engineering and land surveying for the  St. Martin Stadium Bleacher project.

Description:  This agreement will give CSpire an easement to install small cell equipment that will enhance the cellular and internet service around East Central High School. 

Description:  This donation will replace the old storage shed that was removed due to age. 

Description:  This is a renewal agreement between JCSD and JCBOS.  We are currently using portable bleachers provided by the county. 

Description:  We needed to add the supplement scale to the job description.

Description:  We are changing from using Frontline's asset management product and are getting their e-signature/document management software. There is no price change or additional cost.

The Free/Reduced Percentages by site as of November 30, 2023.  2023 verification is 100% complete. 

Description:  F.Y.I. November 2023 Average Daily Breakfast and Lunch Participation

The average daily breakfast and lunch participation is calculated by comparing the average daily attendance of the school (not enrollment) with the average daily participation for breakfast and lunch. 

Description:  Donation is earmarked for purchase of volleyball training equipment.

Description:  The MAFEPD required Board meeting was moved up to 12/7/2023, and an additional required training was added by MDE Office of School Improvement for all Federal Program directors who have schools in school improvement for the 23-24sy. The original MAFEPD trip request was approved 10/16/2023.

Description:  Travel request includes the overnight stay to support the ECHS Volleyball state competition.  

Description:  Approve Travel Request for Child Nutrition to attend School Nutrition Association Legislative Action Conference

Description:  This travel was originally board approved on the Oct 16 board meeting. There has been a change in funding from district funded to federally funded.
