3. Acceptance of Consent Agenda
Description:  As a good practice, the board should accept the consent agenda for the evening's meeting which includes minutes of the May 9 special meeting and the April financial reports. 

RECOMMENDATION: The superintendent recommends that the consent agenda be reviewed and accepted.

  • June 7-11 - 8th gr DC Trip
  • June 10 - Last day of school - 11:30am dismissal
  • June 11 - Alumni Association Dinner - 6pm - Jr/Sr gym
  • June 13 - BOE work session - 6:30pm
  • June 19 - Father's Day
  • June 25 -  Relay for Life - HS track
  • June 27 - BOE meeting - 6:30pm
5. Resignations 
Description:  The following staff members have submitted a letter of resignation.
  • Shannon Barsy - Shannon has been the jr/sr high school Spanish teacher this past year and is pursuing a different career path.
  • Ceairra Green - Ceairra has been with the transportation department since 2014, serving as director for 4 years. She has accepted a job with Pennfield Schools.

RECOMMENDATION: The superintendent recommends accepting these resignations.

6. Retirements
Description:  The following staff members have submitted a retirement letter.
  • Herb Pearrow - Herb first joined the district in 2010 as a bus driver. In 2016, he stepped into the role of Maintenance Supervisor. 
  • Randy Hemenway - Randy has been a dedicated member of the maintenance/custodial team for 41 years. He plans to spend more time with his family during his well-earned retirement. 
RECOMMENDATION: The superintendent recommends accepting these retirements.

7. New Staff 
Description:  The following new hires are presented for BOE approval. Data sheets and resumes are attached.
  • Ann Beaver - HS Science - Ann has 17 years of experience at Johannesburg-Lewiston HS near Gaylord. She is certified in math and science and is moving to southern Michigan to be closer to family. 
  • Shannon Reed - Title 1 - Shannon is returning to Centreville after two years with Vicksburg Schools. 
  • Dawn Phelps - Elementary Teacher - Dawn has seven years of teaching experience at Sunset Elementary in Vicksburg.
  • Dennis Kirby - Elementary Principal - Dennis is also returning to the district, after six years as the assistant principal at Vicksburg Middle School. Previously he served as an elementary teacher and jr/sr high school principal for Centreville. 
  • Matthew Blue - Maintenance/Custodial Supervisor - Matt has been with the Three Rivers Community Schools maintenance department for seven years and is excited to bring his experience, skills, and personality to Centreville. 
RECOMMENDATION: The superintendent recommends approving these new hires as presented.

8. Cafeteria Excess Fund Balance
Description:  The current food service excess fund balance has approximately $60,000 that must be spent by June 30, 2022, according to federal guidelines. Attached are two projects for board approval that would bring that balance down to approximately $32,600. Additional pending expenditures are new doors for the cafeteria and the electrical work required for the new kitchen equipment. 

Bridges Audio Visual - sound system for cafeteria - $12,000
Great Lakes West - milk cooler & pizza prep refrigerator - $15,367.38. 

RECOMMENDATION: The superintendent recommends approving these cafeteria projects as presented.

9. 2022-23 ISD Budget
Description:  ISD personnel will present the 2022-23 ISD general fund budget (attached) to the board. Two resolutions are also attached: one to approve the budget and one to not approve it.

RECOMMENDATION: Review and approve the 2022-23 ISD budget.
