1. Program Highlight - Educator and Leadership Pipelines
Description:
The nation and, specifically, our state continues to struggle with educator shortages. The Commissioner of Education has recently defined several Strategic Priorities; Priority #1: "Recruit, Support, and Retain Teachers and Principals." Because of the urgency and the intentional focus on recruitment and retention efforts regionwide, our internal team has pivoted and created a work group within our Federal, State, and Local Initiatives Component in AIS to support this need. The Educator and Leadership Pipelines workgroup has been working with both the TEA, regional LEA leaders, regional stakeholders to elevate and address the recruitment and retention of teachers and leaders. Regional efforts include the identification and creation of support and long-term solutions and strategies.

12. 2023 Board Election - Canvass Election Results
Description:
Chapter 53, Sub-Chapter AA, Rule 53.1001 of the Texas Administrative Code specifies as follows:
(6) The provisions described in subsection (b)(2) and (5) of this section do not apply if all positions in the election are uncontested. In the event of an uncontested election, the RESC board of directors may determine that no election will be held. The RESC board of directors must make this determination prior to March 1. If, due to an uncontested election, the RESC board of directors determines that an election should not be held, the RESC board shall declare the unopposed candidates elected to office. The RESC executive director shall notify the commissioner of education of the results of an election, whether contested or uncontested. |

Description:
