1. Program Highlight - Special Education TEA Liaison Project
Description:
The Special Education Statewide Liaisons are part of the Administrative and Instructional Services (AIS) Division. TEA piloted the implementation of Special Education Liaisons in each of the regions across the state to provide targeted support and assistance to local districts as a response to the statewide strategic plan. The mission of the ESC-20 Special Education Liaison project is to connect resources and supports across Texas to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. Given the successful track record of the program at ESC-20, TEA selected the special education department to pilot a two-year expansion of this grant in 2022-2024. The expansion team members are called Strategic Integration Liaisons (SIL). The vision of the Strategic Integration Liaison project is to sustain student outcomes through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Statewide Inclusion Framework (SWIF) systems-level change by providing ongoing support, coaching, and technical assistance to LEA cross-functional leadership teams.

10. 2023 Board Election
Description:
On May 31, 2023, the present terms of two ESC-20 Board members,
Mr. Mike Petter and Mr. Randy Bristow will expire. Board members of education service centers are to be elected by members of school district boards of trustees within the region and newly elected Board members’ terms of office will begin on June 1, 2023. A timeline for the 2023 Board Election is attached.
