1) Amended Notice for Board Meeting/Emergency Addition to Agenda

1)A) An Emergency Board Meeting (or a meeting with an Emergency Addition to Agenda) of the Galveston Independent School District will take place via telephone conference call at 3904 Avenue T, Galveston, Texas 77550, pursuant to TEX. GOV'T CODE Section 551.125, because an emergency public necessity exists within the meaning of TEX. GOV'T CODE Section 551.045 and the convening at one location of a quorum of the governmental body is difficult or impossible. All public portions of the meeting will be tape recorded and the identity of each party to the conference call shall be clearly stated prior to speaking. An emergency exists pursuant to Section 551.045 TEX. GOV'T CODE because of an imminent threat to public health and safety; and/or a reasonably unforeseeable situation (as further defined in Subsection 551.045(e), in that Galveston Independent School District (Galveston County) has been declared a federal disaster area and has suffered catastrophic damage because of Hurricane Ike. This notice has been posted as appropriate at 3904 Avenue T, Galveston, Texas 77550 and notified all accessible news media as provided by Subsection 551.047 of the TEX. GOV'T CODE.
