V. SCHOOLOGY: WHAT IT IS AND HOW WE USE IT?
Description:
Alec Kartz (Middle School Ed Tech Specialist) and Courtney Lovell (High School Ed Tech Specialist) will provide a brief introduction to Schoology. Schoology is the Learning Management System (LMS) used at our Middle School and High School.

VI. LEARNING ABOUT AI
Description:
Tim Schell, Rick Franz, Sarah Wendorf, Courtney Lovell, Alec Karz, and Cassie Roberts will provide an overview of AI and its implications for education so far.

VII. YOUTH APPRENTICESHIPS IN EDUCATION
Description:
The education pathway is a new addition to the Youth Apprenticeship program offering preparation for careers in early childhood education and school age education. Michelle McGlynn will provide an update on how we are beginning to support students in this new education pathway and how we will further develop our model in future years.

VIII. ELA MATERIALS ADOPTION
Description:
Tim Schell, Lynn Stenroos, Stephanie Boegh, and Sallie Piotrowski will present our Middle School ELA materials review, the materials pilot, and the recommended resource Amplify. In addition to requesting approval of Amplify as our Middle School ELA resource, we are requesting approval of funds to conduct a pilot of Amplify as a potential resource for the Intermediate School.

IX. TOPICS OF INTEREST FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR IN COMMITTEE
Description:
Items identified during this part of the agenda will be reviewed with the chair in addition to other items that have been identified as topics for 2024-2025 to develop our topic calendar.

X. ITEMS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS
Description:
The testing and assessment plan will be presented in draft form at the June meeting, which is to be scheduled. It is possible that there will be some uncertainty on the elementary level part of the plan contingent on whether DPI has announced the required reading screened by the time of the meeting. There will also be an update on chair and coordinator positions.
