V. DISCUSS HANDBOOK LANGUAGE RECOMMENDATION FROM THE TEACHER HR WORK GROUP REGARDING COMPENSATION FOR ELEMENTARY TEACHERS WHO SUB FOR BLOCKS OF TIME
Description:
The following language was discussed by the Administrative Cabinet and reviewed by the Teacher HR Work Group. We are asking for a recommendation to the full Board to approve and adopt this language at the March Board meeting so that it can be in place for the remainder of this school year. “Grade 7-12 teachers may substitute during their scheduled prep time. Grade K-6 teachers may substitute during non-supervisory and non-teaching times, for up to 2 hours per day.” There is already language in the guidelines that stipulates teachers shall be paid $20 per hour for substituting.

VI. DISCUSS THE TEACHER POINTS SYSTEM
Description:
It has become evident that there are some challenges with the teacher points system. The purpose of this agenda item is to discuss those challenges, and the changes that have taken place that have contributed to those challenges. Three supporting documents have been attached: a review of teachers’ banked points, a summary of salary increases given to teachers this year in other comparable Dane County school districts, and the history of pay increases in Waunakee over the past several years
