III. Middle School CTE Courses-Possible Updates
Presenter:
Marcy Peters-Felice, Michelle McGlynn
Description:
The only Career and Technical Education academic areas currently included at the Middle School are Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) and Technology and Engineering (Tech Ed). Marcy Peters-Felice and Michelle McGlynn will share information on planning to to update the 7th grade required course and the 8th grade elective options to include Business Education and Agriculture and Natural Resources. These updates would also incorporate personal financial literacy at the Middle School level. This is initial information and if planning continues on its present course you will see more through the new course adoption process in the fall.

IV. Possible Changes to Last Days of School for 7th Grade

Description:
Marcy Peters-Felice will discuss the interest of the Middle School in modifying the end of the school year for 7th grade so that the last day of the school year would be 8th grade only. This is initial information to make you aware of the discussion and obtain feedback.

V. Upcoming Changes to High School Accountability and Possible Aspire Incentives

Description:
The Aspire assessment 9th and 10th grade students take as part of the Wisconsin assessment system will be included in accountability ratings beginning with Fall 2019 accountability report cards. This year 12% of our students were Aspire opt outs. Brian Kersten intends to engage the high school faculty in a discussion about increasing participation, including possible incentives, and wants to discuss the topic with you first for your awareness and questions.

VI. RtI Report

Description:
We have been digging into our data regarding the performance of our struggling students and have some findings to share. The news is positive and we have fewer low scoring students than comparable districts and a large portion of students served by intensive interventions progress out of the intervention tier.

VII. 2018-2019 Assessment Plan

Description:
Our district assessment plan for 2018-2019 is the second step in the changes recommended next year. We will convene an assessment committee in the fall to review the impact of the changes and consider options for the future.

VIII. ESSA Plan Update

Description:
A brief update will be provided on the progress on the ESSA LEA plan. As we have been drafting the plan, the requirement seems less involved that we had anticipated.
