Description:
The canvasing of election results will take place on Tuesday. However, it is pretty clear that Mark Hetzel has been re-elected to the Board, and Mike Brandt has been successful as a write-in. Congratulations to both Mark and Mike. I have reached out to Mike and shared that I will be in contact with him to set up a time to begin his orientation to the school district and Board. Joan has also reached out to him with a similar message.

IX.D.1.a. Health Insurance Request for Proposal Process/Wellness Clinic
Description:
Attached please find a presentation on the health insurance and wellness clinic request for proposal process/wellness clinic update. The focus of this presentation is the request for proposal results for our health insurance benefit program and the wellness clinic, and to provide updated data on the wellness clinic. The District Insurance Committee has reviewed the proposal responses, and has
provided recommendations for the School Board to consider. I have also attached the request for proposal results for the health insurance benefit and the wellness clinic in a PDF format, which is easier to read than the powerpoint format if you are interested in reviewing the details of the proposal responses. IX.D.1.b. Instructional Technology Update
Description:
Attached please find Herb Haubrich's presentation on the 5-year sustainability plan for technology. This presentation is a follow-up to the mobile technology presentation that Tim Schell provided last month. Tim shared the concept and rationale for the instructional model, and Herb is following up with more details on the fiscal plan, along with a broader view of the needs that he supports within his budget and with his staff.

IX.D.2. Community Sculpture Project Update and Contract with Artist
Description:
I will provide the Board with an update on Michael Kalish's visit last week and if it is ready, will share and discuss with you the contract that needs be signed to commission this work with Mr. Kalish. The fundraising campaign has the funds necessary to move forward, and since it is on our property, our policy calls for us to be involved with management of the project.

X.C. Insurance Committee
Description:
Attached please find information on the health insurance and wellness clinic request for proposal responses, and the 2018-19 dental insurance program. The District Insurance Committee has reviewed the proposal responses, and has provided recommendations for the School Board to consider. These recommendations were provided under the strategic planning presentation.
In addition, the District Insurance Committee is recommending a 10% increase in the dental insurance rates for 18-19. Please see the attached self-insured dental program financial report. The balance of funds available to pay dental claims is lower than the past, and a larger rate increase is requested to improve the funds available balance. Attached you will find the 2017-18 Budget Status report as of March 31st,
2018, and the Cash Reconciliation report for February 2018. Please note that the district has received the first repayment of donated funds for the Warrior Stadium project. Please also note the wellness clinic expenses have been separated out as its own line item on the monthly financial report. The budgeted amount is $0, because the School Board has previously approved funding the wellness clinic as a trial out of the district fund balance account.
