V. CO-CURRICULAR REPORT FROM AARON MAY
Description:
Attached please find the Co-Curricular Report from Aaron May. This is an annual report to the Board regarding the co-curricular programs in the school district, including data on gate receipts and booster club financial summaries. Aaron will present this report to the Committee, be available to answer any questions, and will seek feedback on any additional information that you desire prior to it going to the full Board for review.
Aaron is seeking additional details from the Touchdown Club and a few other reports that he had not received prior to BoardBook being released on Friday. He will bring hard copies to the meeting on Monday evening.

VI. NEW CLUB AND ORGANIZATION REQUESTS
Description:
Attached please find Club and Organization Requests for 2017-2018. Traditionally these requests have come to the Board in November, but I think we are more effective at addressing these requests prior to the start of the school year.
Please see the detailed requests and recommendations from Brian Kersten that associate with each program. The Symphony Winds and Justice League are both requesting pay. Brian Kersten and Connie Beth reviewed comparable clubs and organizations and believe they are similar to Fiddle Band and Pay It Forward Clubs. The request is for a 2.5% stipend for the advisors of each of these clubs. 2.5% equates to $900 each. I would like to discuss the Symphony Winds request with you in the context that this club exists as a result of Elizabeth Heiks seeing a student interest, starting this group, spending time with students before school, and it being viable over the last few years. However, I do not think this organization came through the Committee or the Board as a matter of process. The options for how to proceed are as follows: 1. Consider the request for the club and the pay at the same time. 2. Consider the request for the organization of the club this year, and have the request for the pay return to you next year.

VII. DISCUSSION ON COLUMBUS JOINING THE GYMNASITICS CO-OP
Description:
Aaron May is seeking your feedback on a Gymnastics Co-Op Request from Columbus.
A little background... Waunakee currently is in a Co-Op for Gymnastics with DeForest. We host the team and the DeForest students travel to Waunakee for practice and events. This Co-Op works well and we have a total of about 20 students combined to make this team, with the vast majority coming from Waunakee. Columbus has two students who want to be part of a school Gymnastics team. In proximity to them, Beaver Dam does not have a program, and Aaron is seeking insight as to why they are not requesting to join Sun Prairie. Since the next closest school to Columbus is DeForest, and they co-op with us, the request is being sent through Aaron. The Columbus parents are willing to drive the students to Waunakee each day for practice, and they have been told that we are not delaying the start of practice etc. should we agree to a co-op. Aaron and I have mixed feelings about this request: 1. We see value in it from the respect of providing two students in our region an opportunity to which they otherwise would not have access. 2. Waunakee and Columbus are not near each other -- 34 miles -- which is a bit of a distance when looking at co-ops in our area. 3. We question why they do not join Sun Prairie which is just down Hwy. 151, and Aaron is looking into this question. 4. The benefit to Waunakee is minimal -- the cost sharing for two students is very minimal and we have 20 students on our team, so lack of numbers is not an issue. 5. The addition of two additional athletes is also not an issue. Co-Ops require the involved school boards and the conference to approve of the co-op arrangements. We want to discuss this request with you to get your perspective prior to formally moving anything forward.
