V. REVIEW REFERENDUM PROJECT PLAN AND MAINTENANCE FOR HERITAGE ELEMENTARY
Description:
The attached document is the same spreadsheet that we shared with you at the previous Facility Committee Meeting on October 7th. It outlines the breakdown of projects within the Base Scope and then additional projects and maintenance items that are on our long-range plan for Heritage.
Since that meeting, we have had a few key team reviews to discuss the feedback we received from you on October 7th, a detailed review meeting with our electrical consultants, electrical subcontractor, and Findorff/EUA, and a review of "project items" and "maintenance items". As a result, the attached spreadsheet should not be viewed as a line-by-line costing, since these values and scope are changing, but we will use it for sake of discussion with you on what is being revised in our plans. We most likely will not have new costing for the items in time for our Wednesday discussion with you. Steve and I do not feel this is imperative for us to move the conversations forward because we want to take our time with you to share the "big picture" shift that we are envisioning in scope of the electrical work, options with the blacktop, and separation of referendum work and maintenance items. For example, we want to move carpet to a maintenance item and eliminate the architect design fee for the carpet related items. Also, we want to replicate the electrical plan we did at Prairie, where we pull the necessary wires for security cameras, but do not need to connect a camera to the system until we are ready in the future. Also, the clock and bell system does not need to go full facility wide on day one, and we can phase that in as the school expands. Also, the LED lighting can be a maintenance project with a 1:1 replacement plan and consideration of dimmer switches. Finally, blacktop is being reviewed for "mill and overlay" in the playground. Our discussion at the last committee meeting helped to frame up some of your priorities and we want to talk you though the revised vision we have for the Heritage project and how we feel we can make the best use of referendum and maintenance funds. We have added an agenda item on the Special Board Meeting Agenda for October 26th to provide a review of the Heritage Project with the full board. We may have revised pricing by that time, too, which would then be appropriate to share.
