The following is a message from Dr. Birchbauer that I forwarded to each board member on October 29th:

Good Day School Board Members –

This e-mail will serve to provide some context for the meeting on Monday November 2, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.  I believe that most people like to know how long a meeting will take, so please plan on a time frame of 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for this meeting. 

Individuals also like to know something about what will be asked of them, so they can prepare and give thoughtful reflection to their answer(s).  Since you completed the WASB/School Perceptions Annual Board Planning Inventory which is correlated to the Key Work of Schools Boards and already completed a workshop on school board roles and responsibilities, we will focus on the Key Work of School Boards and Organizational Effectiveness as it relates to your responses on the survey. 

As time permits,  I will be asking you to answer the questions listed below:        
Why are you on the school board?
What do you want to accomplish on the school board?
What do you think is impeding your performance as a school board?
What do you think the school district goals should be at this point in time? 

Please come ready to answer the above questions and willing to participate in the activities at this meeting. You will also find attached a brief summary of my background, if you are interested.  I look forward to meeting and working with you in a professional capacity.
