I. Call to Order and Statement of Purpose
Statement of Purpose: The Shorewood Bi-Board is a voluntary means of identifying and exploring common interests between the Shorewood Village Board and the Shorewood School Board. It is a working committee with no decision-making power that would replace Board action. Outcomes are reported to each board and considered when action is required. All meetings are publicly noticed. Public comment is invited in writing and will be included in minutes. |

III. Affordable Housing as a Predictor of School Enrollment
Teig Whaley-Smith, Executive Director, Community Development Alliance The Baby Boomers were America’s largest population. What they decide to do with their family homes will have a significant impact on future school enrollment. If a community’s homes are occupied by a large number of empty nesters then school enrollment will drop unless that community has a strategy to produce homes that are accessible to young families. Mr. Whaley-Smith will present on trends in Shorewood’s housing and how they may impact future enrollment in Shorewood schools. |
