The school board meeting is a meeting in the public, not a public meeting. Nicollet School Board Policy provides that persons who wish to have a subject discussed at a public school board meeting are encouraged to notify the superintendent’s office in advance of the school board meeting. The school board chair will recognize one speaker at a time and will rule out of order other speakers who are not recognized, violations of data privacy, or inappropriate comments.

5.a. Superintendent's Report

Description:
The fall staff development schedule has been completed and distributed to staff members. Teachers will unpack boxes and prepare their rooms on August 24th and 25th. Staff development activities are planned for August 30th through September 2nd. Classes for students begin on September 7th for grades 7-12 and on September 9th for grades K-6.
The construction project is on time and under budget. Classrooms can be occupied on August 23rd. The district office will move back on August 16th. We will conduct a public tour of the upgrades in conjunction with the September 8th school board meeting.
