2.A. Listening Session
Description:
All speakers participating in the listening session are asked to complete the listening session Sign-in Card including as much detail as possible and including a printed / written copy of your presentation if one is available. The Sign-in Cards are at the table by the entrance door, and anyone who has not called in or emailed the Superintendent, in advance, may complete them now. Please include all requested information on the Sign-in Card so administration can provide follow-up as needed.
This is an opportunity for the School Board to listen; the School Board will not engage in dialogue. As a general rule, the School Board will not comment on or respond to any comments made by speakers. Please do not include names of Badger Community School employees or representatives, their title, or location in your remarks for your own legal protection and the legal rights of staff. Each speaker will have five (5) minutes to speak; speakers may not roll their time to another speaker. Speakers will be timed and are asked to complete their comments in this time frame. School Board members may ask questions if needed. Please begin your presentation by stating your name and topic only. In the spirit of fairness to all participants, we request that you respect the format above. Thank you for taking the time tonight to attend this meeting and share your concerns and suggestions. |

Description:
The Milk Bid Award Meeting will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 7:30 A.M.

10.B. Set School Meal Prices for SY 2026-2027
Description:
All students will continue to receive free breakfasts and lunches. Extra items (like a second milk or seconds at either breakfast or lunch) are not free; therefore, prices for these items need to be set.
Badger ISD #676 follows the minimum adult meal price guidelines set forth by the Food and Nutrition Program at the Minnesota Department of Education. Badger ISD #676 bills Northwest Community Action for Head Start student meals.

Description:
Annual policy review:
413 Harassment and Violence 506 Student Discipline 722 Public Data and Data Subject Requests 806 Crisis Management Policy These Badger School District Policies should be reviewed annually, per recommendation from MSBA. The recommendation is to schedule them for review at the next regular School Board Meeting on August 13, 2025. |

10.E. First Reading of Board Policy 208
Description:
The updated Board Policy adds "technical" to the type of policy revision that may be approved in a single meeting; it allows the board to choose whether to direct staff to incorporate technical revisions into policies.
The addition of the word "technical" adds clarification to the term "minor" when referring to changes in policy that have no impact on the substance of the policy. "Technical" and "Minor" have been synonymous when interpreting Policy 208 in the past; however, it is now recommended to add technical to the policy moving forward. Under Board Policy 208, new policies or policies that have substantive changes not made to comply with new laws should be read at two meetings which allow for public comment prior to their approval. Public comment will be allowed prior to any action taken.

Description:
The updated Board Policy 721 adds a provision (Article IV, Subparagraph H.3) regarding thresholds for emergency purchases by the superintendent/others.
Under Board Policy 208, new policies or policies that have substantive changes not made to comply with new laws should be read at two meetings which allow for public comment prior to their approval. Public comment will be allowed prior to any action taken.
