3. Hiring an LPN
Description:
Please see attached a proposed job description and salary schedule for an LPN. I vaguely shared the upcoming idea at one of our past board meetings. It has been accelerated because of the nurse's pregnancy. Here are my thoughts... 1. Hire an LPN for the upcoming 2015-16 school year 2. The RN and LPN nurses will alternate between the two school buildings. This will allow a nurse in both buildings during the school day. 3. Our RN nurse Ashley will remain the school district's primary care nurse and complete state reporting, create the rotation schedule, evaluate the LPN, etc. This is definitely reflected, as it should be, in the different pay and benefits for the two positions. 4. We will be at full staff for the fall months. Then, when Ashley goes on maternity leave for 12 weeks we'll get by with just the LPN. For MDE requirement purposes we still have Mrs. Gurbada available to help. She has an RN license. 5. Hiring an LPN in the fall allows Ashley to get the new person trained in and familiar with our students and district. 6. Best of all, Mary said she already included this possible expense in last month's budget presentation to the board. I'd like to get advertising this position ASAP so we can attract and hire the best candidate for our students and families. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. |
