II.A.1. Conscious Discipline is a trauma informed, evidence-based and research-backed Social and Emotional Learning best practice. Early Learning in South St. Paul is taking a lead in transforming our classrooms, and sharing our Conscious Discipline learning with our SSP school community. Heather Vacura, SSP Community Preschool Teacher and passionate problem solver, will provide an overview of Conscious Discipline, share strategies and vocabulary, and talk about our role as adults to consciously manage our own thoughts and emotions so we can help children learn to do the same.
