II. QUALITY IN ACTION (Strategic Direction 4)

II.A. Seventh grade Language and Literature students recently completed a "Festival of Nations" project.  While the instructional piece was primarily to teach research and annotation skills, the most interesting aspect for students was to research their country of origin.  They then presented their projects to the class.  Several students and their teacher, Teresa Tonda, will highlight their projects. II.B. School Board Recognition Week is February 19-23.  As a member of the school board, you help make decisions that have a tremendous impact on our children’s future and the quality of life in our community. You recognize the importance of this civic duty and your flexibility to attend board meetings and events is a testament to the commitment you have for our schools and the students in which we serve.

 School board membership is one of the most personally demanding forms of public service. You spend countless hours preparing for and participating in monthly meetings. You devote a great deal of time to studying education issues and laws and listening to the concerns of parents and teachers.

On behalf of all of the students, staff, and families of our community, thank you for the important role you play in helping our school board take care of our community’s children. (D. Webb)
