Minnesota Statute 120A.414 allows school districts and charter schools to use up to five 'e-learning' days during inclement weather. Instruction during e-learning days is counted towards the required instructional hours, so makeup days would not be required, provided the minimum number of hours was met, including e-learning days. Approval of this plan is required prior to the start of the school year and it was negotiated with the exclusive representative of the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers in accordance with state statute. 

In accordance with the negotiated agreement, e-learning days will only be called for school sites that would go below minimum instructional requirements without the e-learning day.
