Description:  Minneapolis Public Schools ("MPS") has entered into multi-year contracts with non-profit organizations to provide high quality alternative programs for students who have experienced or are experiencing difficulty in meeting goals in traditional schools, and education to students in need of a non-traditional setting. These non-profit organizations provide educational services to eligible MPS students and are accountable to MPS through performance standards and contractual agreement. These multi-year contracts require an annual amendment to Appendix A, which is outlines the required finance obligation based on yearly enrollment. The amendment also includes Comp Ed and Title I funding allocations.

Background
A solar garden was placed on the west side of North High School in 2021. In order to complete the connection of the solar array to the electrical power grid, a new transformer needs to be located at North High School. Xcel Energy is requesting an easement for the new transformer. When the transformer is placed, the solar garden will be connected to the grid and subscriptions for solar power can be initiated for residents in the area.

Background
Wellstone has an opportunity to partner with Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC), which will provide Destination: Diploma to Degree (D3) programming to students. D3 programming allows students to enroll in college-level courses and credits while they are attending high school. Wellstone's presence at MCTC validates and uplifts MPS' commitment for all students to have advanced academic opportunities along with access to a limited number of campus-based programs. With 30 students already enrolled for the 2022-23 school year, this partnership will also allow for expansion.

Key Agreement Terms
Lease costs up to $250,000 annually.
Facility modifications up to $150,000.
The contract term up to five years.
