Communications, Public Comment and Participation

Approval of Resolution - Tentative Budget for School Year 2019-2020

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education approve placing the 2019-2020 School District budget on display for public inspection and publishing the Notice of Public Hearing for July 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., as presented and as listed.  See Attachment No. 34.

Consent Agenda

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education approve the actions contained in the Consent Agenda as presented.

Approval of Resolution of Intent to Issue Funding Bonds

Recommended Motion: that the Board of Education approve Resolution setting forth and describing in detail claims heretofore authorized and allowed for proper school purposes which are presently outstanding and unpaid, declaring the intention to avail of the provisions of declaring the intention to avail of the provisions of Article 19 of the School Code of the State of Illinois, as amended, and to issue general obligation bonds for the purpose of funding and paying claims against Community Unit School District Number 40, Rock Island County, Illinois, and directing that notice of such intention be published in the manner provided by law.  See Attachment No. 35.

Psychology Textbook Approval

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education, after a public display, approve the adoption of Thinking About Psychology:  The Science of Mind and Behavior for the MHS psychology course, from Bedford, Freeman & Worth, Boston, Massachusetts, at a cost not to exceed $9,000.  See Attachment No. 36.

Approval of Capital Expenditures

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education approve $139,154 for capital expenditures to Black Hawk Area Special Education for the Co-Ops Health Life Safety assessment to the District for the 2019-2020 school year.  See Attachment No. 37.

Approval of Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education approve an Early Childhood Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.  See Attachment No. 38.
