Authorization to Open a Single Bid

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education after receiving a single bid, authorize the administration to open the single bid received for the Moline High School Elevator Modernization Project and review for possible consideration and award later in the meeting.

Consent Agenda

Recommended Motion: that the Board of Education approve the actions contained in the Consent Agenda as presented.

Possible Motion for Consideration:  that the Board of Education consider that all contracts, construction, engineering, architectural design, and other aspects related to the proposed addition to Hamilton Elementary School be placed on hold (abated) until the results of a November 3, 2014 petition referendum are known.

Approval of Resolution Abating Working Cash Fund and Authorizing Accounting Transfer  -  Dave McDermott

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education approve the Resolution Abating Working Cash Fund and Authorizing Accounting Transfer as presented in Attachment
No. 9.

Adoption of School District Amended Budget for Fiscal Year 2013-2014  -  Dave McDermott

Recommended Motion:  that the Amended Budget as presented be adopted by the Board of Education as the Budget of this school district for the 2013-2014 Fiscal Year.  See Attachment No. 10.

ACTION ON HAMILTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Review of Hamilton Bids / Approve Contract Amendment

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education accept the recommendation of Russell Construction Company, Davenport, Iowa, of the lowest compliant bidders for the Hamilton School Project work packages and approve of Russell Construction Company entering into agreements with these bidders for this project.  These bid amounts are then to be incorporated into the guaranteed maximum price amendment with Russell Construction Company, creating a revised agreement amount of $15,731,147, which also includes general condition expenses, allowances, contingencies, and a construction management fee, for Russell Construction Company's services for the Hamilton School Project.  This action then approves the amended amount, shown above, based on the competitive bidding of the work packages and the agreement currently in place between Russell Construction Company and Moline School District #40.  See Attachment No. 11.

Building Permit

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education approve the application for a building permit for the Hamilton Elementary School Addition and Renovation project.  See Attachment No. 12.

Engage Services

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education engage the services of Team Services, Davenport, Iowa, for laboratory and field testing along with observation services based on quoted unit prices for Hamilton Elementary School for a not-to-exceed cost of $25,000.  See Attachment No. 13.

Recommended Motion:  that the Board of Education take appropriate action as recommended and presented regarding the single bid received for the Moline High School Elevator Modernization Project.  See Attachment No. 14.
