Yegua Family, It’s that special time of year again, time to nominate students for Santa Yegua! This wonderful community program helps ensure every student experiences a joyful and magical Christmas. This nomination form allows you to nominate students or families who may benefit from Santa Yegua. There is also a sponsorship form for individuals, groups, or organizations interested in spreading holiday cheer by becoming a Yegua Santa Sponsor. We invite you to take a moment to nominate a child or family in need, or to partner with us in blessing Somerville students and families this Christmas season. Sponsors will receive additional details, including children’s sizes and gift ideas, right before Thanksgiving, just in time for Black Friday shopping! Please plan to turn in all presents or donations to either the Elementary or High School front office by Friday, December 12th. Current Administrative Policy: After all available state and local leave have been exhausted, an employee shall be granted in a school year a maximum of fifteen (15) workdays of extended sick leave to be used for the employee’s personal illness or injury, including pregnancy-related illness or injury, or for absences related to the illness or injury of a member of the employee’s immediate family. The extended sick leave ceases to exist when the employee returns to work. Whether or not the full fifteen (15) days of extended sick leave are utilized, the employee is eligible for this leave once every school year. Suggested Administrative Policy Revision: (Changes highlighted in green) After all available state and local leave have been exhausted, an employee shall be granted in a school year a maximum of fifteen (15) workdays of extended sick leave to be used for the employee’s personal illness or injury, including pregnancy-related illness or injury, or for absences related to the illness or injury of a member of the employee’s immediate family. The extended sick leave ceases to exist when the employee returns to work or may be used intermittently when related to the specific qualifying event, as approved by the superintendent.
