Description:
At our September Regular Board Meeting we accepted the Jiv Pauly donation by resolution. We need to discuss a "threshold limit" for accepting donations by resolution.

4. TIES Update
Description:
Superintendent Helgerson has been invited to attend a meeting at Bloomington Public Schools today (Monday) to discuss the TIES situation with other TIES member districts who have submitted withdrawal paperwork. Mr. Helgerson will share another update on this situation at the Work Session.

5. Enrollment Protocol for Students Starting after School Year
Description:
Share procedures for starting kids after the year has begun. Also discuss immunizations and state statute concerning immunizations.

6. Dennis Cheesbrow - Excellence in Governance Refresher Training Possibility
Description:
There have been discussions with Ed Waltman of the SCSC regarding a 3 hour refresher course on the management and governance components of our strategic plan. We could take part in this refresher if we are interested.

7. Exploratory Transition for 18-19
Description:
Discuss Spanish, Art, and Health
See attachment that was presented last spring to the Board. We would like to review this information. Note that there are plans to add Spanish V for 18-19. This addition, combined with the MS exploratory transition, will result in the need for an additional Spanish teacher in 18-19.

8. Jordan Journalist - Discuss Winter and Spring Publications
Description:
We'd like to discuss the Jordan Journalist and the potential evolution of this longtime publication.
Our Communications Committee has proposed doing one big "State of the District" publication in the fall of each year, but not including traditional Journalist information in the winter and spring publications. The superintendent will continue to write an update for each publication, but it will look different going forward. Community Education will still create a catalog for the winter publication, but we plan to discuss CE communications and programming this fall with the Joint Powers Board, Advisory Council, and then School Board at an upcoming Work Session. |

10. Field Trip Request - Volleyball Team
Description:
This field trip request is for a trip October 6-7, 2017. Since this date is before the next Regular School Board Meeting, Matt Helgerson is presenting it for board review at tonight's Workshop Meeting.
