Description:
Pauline Sohler will be teaching 2 hours of FACS (foods first semester). She is a Jordan native and resident. She has a FACS undergraduate degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. This will be her first teaching job.

Description:
Mrs. Tracee Klehr is joining the JMS team after thirteen years of successful teaching at Shakopee Area Catholic Schools following time in the business field. She has her Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Masters in Instruction, and her K-12 principal's licensure. She comes highly recommended from all references as a talented and hardworking teacher with a student focused mindset. We look forward to her using her strong instructional background and real world experience to challenge our students daily.

5.12. Review and Act on New Hire - Special Education Paraprofessional - Beverly VanSoest
Description:
Beverly VanSoest comes to the Jordan School District with 4 years of experience working in a preschool setting. During her time as an assistant for the preschool, she was responsible for assisting the lead teacher by gathering craft ideas and supplies, set room up and take down room daily, assist in discipline issues, assist in conferences with parents and guardians, and when teacher was absent, took over role as lead teacher and care for needs/concerns of children and guardians/parents.

5.13. Review and Act on New Hire - Special Education Paraprofessional - Andria Nold
Description:
Andi Nold comes to the Jordan School District with 7 years experience for the Volunteers of America, Avanti Center for Girls in Blaine, MN as a unit supervisor. As a supervisor, she provided services to clients struggling with emotional and behavioral disturbances, collaborated with teachers, parents and clients to implement individualized education plans, conducted interviews with potential employees, facilitated new employee training sessions, implemented staff training for professional development created and integrated strategic plan to improve client success rate, implemented treatment programming, and coordinated with professional staff to help residents achieve treatment goals.

5.14. Review and Act on New Hire - Cooks Helper - Linda Nelson
Description:
Linda has years of food merchandising and demoing of food at various super markets. She has traveled to southern Minnesota for years merchandising and taking on special projects. She is now at the point in her life that she does not want to travel anymore, but still wants to work with food, just closer to home. Linda has taken various food safety courses and will be taking her Serve Safe course this fall with us. We are very excited to have Linda join our team!

5.15. Review and Act on New Hire - Special Education Teacher - Amanda Ohmes
Description:
Amanda Ohmes come to the Jordan School District with one year experience as a .4 FTE special education teacher at Jordan Elementary School. At JES she took on several small groups working with children in reading and social skills. She was a part of IEP meetings and evaluation planning meetings. She worked with children on sharing, taking turns, appropriate language and behavior, and reading Prior to Jordan, she was a lead teacher in a head start program for one year in Iowa. There she wrote lesson plans that correlated with standards, set up stations (weekly), coordinated field trips and in house programs, performed home visits, taught curriculum, attended trainings, filled out government paper work for program, toilet training, and IEP’s.

5.16. Review and Act on New Hire - Special Education Paraprofessional - Kayli Shutrop
Description:
Kayli Shutrop comes to the Jordan School District with 4 years experience working in a preschool setting. Kayli has worked at the YMCA and also New Horizon Academy as a lead infant teacher. Kayli's responsibilities were to set up the daily curricular activities and make sure each child is taken care of. Each day Kayli taught art, literature, math, science, and reading to the children. Kayli was also responsible for communicating with parents on a daily basis regarding children's progress and daily activities.

5.17. Review and Act on New Hire - Tennis Coach - Rachel Vollbrecht
Description:
Rachel is a 2007 graduate of Jordan Public Schools. After high school, Rachel traveled to St. Cloud State University to pursue a degree in Special Education, and is currently working on her Masters. After college, she worked as a special education teacher in the St. Cloud school district for two years, and Albany for another, before moving back to Jordan. Currently, Rachel works here in district 717 as an early childhood interventionist.

5.18. Review and Act on New Hire - Girls Soccer Coach - Sabrina Thong
Description:
Sabrina is a recent graduate of Jordan HS in 2016, who is now attending Normandale, but is undecided in her major. In her free time she loves to golf, and is excited about giving back to the soccer program.

Description:
Kelly Hyer has been a teacher for the past 10 years, teaching most recently in Eastern Carver County Schools. She has experience with personalized learning, Balanced Literacy, and worked last year with 3rd grade students with a 1:1 technology initiative.

5.20. Review and Act on New Hire - Preschool Teacher - Marisa Woitas
Description:
Marisa has her early childhood degree and teaching license from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She began her teaching career in Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, and then transitioned to a home daycare provider. She spent the last 10 years in daycare. Now that her kids have all started school, she is able to get back into the classroom.
