V.D. Performing Arts Fall Play / Spring Musical Selections
Description:
The theatre department has chosen to perform the following productions for the upcoming school year:
Fall Play: Clue It's a dark and stormy night, and you've been invited to a very unusual dinner party. Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well . . . dead. So whodunnit? Join the iconic oddballs known as Scarlet, Plum, White, Green, Peacock, and Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up. Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist. Spring Musical: Annie Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including "Tomorrow." With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Annie is the perfect family-friendly musical. We look forward to both of the performances chosen! |

VII.A. SuperEval Evaluation Platform **
Description:
SuperEval is an IASB sponsored online platform used to conduct educational leadership evaluations. The platform is customizable, allowing the District to choose team members who will participate, determine the rubric or rubrics for each evaluation, select the competencies or professional practices to be included as part of the evaluation, and co-create annual performance goals. SuperEval would be utilized, at least initially, for the superintendent, business manager and principal. The cost for 2023/24 would be $2,735, with an annual recurring fee then of $2,340. We will utilize this initial year to evaluate the resource and determine if it would be valuable to expand to other administrators. Recommend approval of purchasing SuperEval Evaluation at a cost of $2,735 for the 2023/24 school year.

VII.B. Branching Minds **
Description:
Leslie Gillengerten, MTSS and Inclusion Coordinator, has been investigating, with involvement from faculty and staff, a new MTSS platform. The goal of the platform is to create personalized intervention plans, provide powerful collaboration tools across the organization to support student needs, and easy-to-understand reporting tools. With input from faculty and staff, the administration is recommending we transition to Branching Minds for the 2023/24 school year and not renew with Panorama. Branching Minds provides a monitoring and reporting tool very similar to Panorama, in addition to many other tools. The costs are as follows:
Licenses for students and staff $14,600 Premium Success Package 300 Total Annual Costs $14,900 Training $ 7,100 Total One-Time Costs $ 7,100 Savings to Non-Renew Panorama $15,000 Net Costs for Change $ 7,000 Recommend approval of purchasing Branching Minds at a cost of $22,000 for the 2023/24 school year. |

|
VIII.C. CLIC – Renewal of Workers’ Compensation and Liability Insurance **
Description:
We received our renewal for workers’ compensation as well as the liability insurance through the Collective Liability Insurance Cooperative (CLIC). Worker’s Compensation shows an increase of 9.9%. While our experience modification factor dropped, our payrolls went up, so the premiums also increase. The liability/property package is increasing .1%, tied to increases in the loss funds for the insurance package and school board legal liability. We are recommending purchase of Excess Cyber Liability which is not reflected on this invoice. I should have the updated invoice for you at the meeting. Recommend approval of the Workers’ Compensation and Liability/Property Insurance renewal as presented.
|
VIII.D. ALEKS Math Software Program **
Description:
Next year, GCHS will have two new Tier 3 math intervention sections. ALEKS math will be utilized as the intensive intervention for these two classes. ALEKS is a research based, online learning program that is rooted in 20 years of research and analytics. It helps students master course topics through a continuous cycle of mastery, knowledge retention, and positive feedback. Each student begins a new course with a unique set of knowledge and prerequisite gaps to fill. It is individualized and provides the support required for every student to achieve mastery. Recommend approval of the ALEKS Math Software Program at a cost of $2,895.40.
|
VIII.E. Brainfuse HelpNow On-Demand Tutoring **
Description:
As the District has continued to look for ways to intervene and assist students in academic achievement, we would like to offer on-demand tutoring next year that students will be able to access anywhere with internet access. Students connect instantly with a live, online tutor from any desktop or mobile device for help with homework assignments and test preparation based on recommendations from the RED Teams. The cost per hour is $33, and we are recommending purchasing 100 hours to begin with for a cost of $3,300. Recommend approval of purchasing 100 hours of Brainfuse HelpNow On-Demand Tutoring hours at a cost of $33.00 per hour.
|
VIII.F. Medical Rate Renewal **
Description:
Last year, we held rates steady except for a slight increase due to the stop loss policy increasing premiums. This year, we have seen a rise in claims, but our reserves have again held steady due to increased lives on the plan. Lakes Region Benefit Cooperative met with us, and we have over 90 days of reserves. There is a slight increase in monthly premiums tied to fixed fees increasing, which is tied primarily to our stop loss policy renewal. We are recommending a slight rate increase this year.
I am recommending the monthly rates for 2023-2024 as shown below: Plan B Current 22/23 Proposed 23/24 Employee $ 767.75 $ 774.51 Employee+Child $2,011.19 $2,017.95 Employee+Spouse $2,175.35 $2,182.11 Family $2,552.33 $2,559.09 Plan C Current 22/23 Proposed 23/24 Employee $ 694.15 $ 701.02 Employee+Child $1,820.00 $1,826.87 Employee+Spouse $1,966.51 $1,973.38 Family $2,111.55 $2,118.42 High Deductible Plan Current 22/23 Proposed 23/24 Employee $ 419.73 $ 425.60 Employee+Child $1,096.30 $1,102.17 Employee+Spouse $1,184.34 $1,190.21 Family $1,271.51 $1,277.38 |

VIII.H. EmbraceIEP Contract ** Added
Description:
Currently, we utilize the Skyward Special Education module for IEP and 504 plans. This year, the special education department started looking at other software that was available to accomplish the same thing. They are recommending EmbraceIEP as the new IEP and 504 plan software. Big Hollow Middle School, Stanton Middle School and Gavin Middle School all use this software. Our implementation of it will make the transfer of files for incoming freshmen seamless. I’ve attached the contract for your review. The total cost in year one is $8,599.00 which includes implementation costs. The annual cost per year after year one will be $5,099.00. Recommend approval of the EmbraceIEP Contract for 2023-2024 in the amount of $8,599.00.
