V.A. February Student of the Month
Description:
Brianna Osmon will be in attendance so that we may recognize her accomplishments in being selected as the February Student of the Month.

V.B. March Student of the Month
Description:
Jack Polark will be in attendance so that we may recognize his accomplishments in being selected as the March Student of the Month.

V.C. IHSA State Wrestling Champion
Description:
Ayane Jasinski and the Wrestling Team coaches will be in attendance so that we may recognize her accomplishments this season, culminating in a 1st place win and State Championship title at the IHSA State Girls’ Wrestling Competition. Congratulations go to Ayane and the coaching staff that have supported her all season on this State Championship win!

V.D. Excellence in Education Award – 3rd Quarter
Description:
Emmy Diana, English teacher, and Lynda Gunther, Vocational Coordinator, will be in attendance to recognize their receipt of the 3rd quarter Excellence in Education Award.

Description:
Athletic Director Tom Ross will be in attendance to highlight winter athletic accomplishments.

V.F. Multi-Tiered System of Supports Update
Description:
Leslie Gillengerten, MTSS and Inclusion Coordinator, will be in attendance to highlight the MTSS framework that was implemented this school year.

V.G. Proposed Legislation
Description:
With hundreds of proposed bills potentially impacting education, this will be a very active spring legislative session to watch. I would like to provide a brief update on bills that made it out of committee last week and discuss the potential impact of the most significant changes being proposed.

VII.A. Intergovernmental Agreement Between the Village of Fox Lake & Grant Community High School District 124 – School Resource Officer Contract **
Description:
The District has been in discussion with the Village of Fox Lake regarding the renewal of our School Resource Officer (SRO) contract. The existing contract, drafted in 2017, has been rolling over on a year-to-year basis. The proposed Intergovernmental Agreement being provided for your review and potential approval reflects the District reimbursing the Village of Fox Lake for the actual cost of the SRO’s salary and expands the SRO’s presence during summer school to the greatest extent possible. Recommend approval of the Intergovernmental Agreement as presented.

VII.B. April Board Meeting Date Change **
Description:
Due to the upcoming election on April 4th, it is necessary to consider a change to our April Board of Education meeting date. We have been informed the last day for the county clerk to certify elections results is Tuesday, April 25th. Within 40 days after the election, or by May 14th, the Board shall certify the results, organize by electing its officers, and fix a time and place for regular meetings. Neither our current April or May meeting dates work with the required timeline. Recommend a change in our April meeting date from April 20, 2023, to April 27, 2023, in order to be able to reorganize in the allowable timeframe.

VII.C. IHSA Membership **
Description:
Recommend that the Board approve membership in the Illinois High School Association for the 2023/24 school term. In renewing our membership, we are certifying that we are recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education, we will adopt and abide by the Constitution, By-laws, Terms and Conditions, and Administrative Procedures, Guidelines, and Policies of the Association.

VII.D. Overnight Travel **
Description:
Four student members of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter qualified for the State competition and conference in Springfield. They are requesting for the students, sponsor and an adult aide to travel from April 13-15 with a District cost of $2,597.68. Recommend approval of the overnight travel as presented.

VIII.A. Architect Master Agreement with Wight and Co. **
Description:
During late summer and fall, we went through the process of requesting proposals for architectural services with our Site and Facility Committee. In November, we recommended Wight and Co. as the architect of record for the district. We have finished the negotiations and legal review of the master agreement. I’ve attached this document for your review and approval. Recommend approval of the Agreement between Grant Community High School and Wight & Company as presented.
