VII.A. School Board Policy Modification **
Description:
School Board Policy 7:70, Attendance and Truancy, has a submission deadline of January 13, 2023, to the Illinois State Board of Education. We were awaiting the sample IASB policy, which was received in the most recent PRESS update. Due to the timing requirement, we are recommending a waiver of the first reading and move to approve Policy 7:70 at this time.

VII.B. Athletic Proposals **
Description:
To accommodate student-athlete interest, the administration is recommending approval of an additional level and corresponding coach for the girls’ volleyball program, effective the 23/24 school year, and an additional level and corresponding coach for the boys’ lacrosse program, effective immediately.

VII.C. Foreign Language Trip Requests **
Description:
The foreign language department is requesting to reschedule foreign language trips that were not able to take place as initially planned in 2019 and tentatively rescheduled several times since then. Details are as follows:

VII.D. Overnight Trip Requests **
Description:
The Math Team is requesting an overnight stay to travel to a regional competition from February 24 to February 25, 2023. The location is tentative, but more than likely we will be assigned to the DeKalb competition. The majority of trip costs will be paid with activity funds, with the exception of chaperone and fuel costs.
The Speech Team is requesting an overnight stay to travel to a sectional competition from February 10 to February 11, 2023. The location is tentative, but we are anticipating the competition to take place at DeKalb High School. The majority of trip costs will be paid with activity funds, with the exception of entry fees, chaperone and fuel costs. Recommend approval of the overnight trips as presented. |

VIII. Business Affairs

VIII.A. Final 2022 Tax Levy **
Description:
Last month, I presented the tentative 2022 Certificate of Tax Levy. Attached, please find the final 2022 Certificate of Tax Levy, along with the Resolution to Spread a Tax Levy for Year 2022, the Resolution to Levy Certain Special Taxes for Special Education District IMRF Purposes, and the Resolution for Levying for Working Cash Fund Purposes for the Year 2022. There has been no change to what was presented last month. Recommend approval of the 2022 Final Tax Levy as presented.

VIII.B. Coaching and Activities Meeting **
Description:
We presented to you last month the results of the Coaching and Sponsor meeting that we have in conjunction with the union each year. There was an additional request that was discovered after the recommendation was made last month that got missed. We reconvened the committee and discussed an additional dance coach. I’ve included data for you to review and our formal recommendation. The data supports the addition of a .50 Assistant Dance coach. Recommend approval of a .50 Assistant Dance Coach for 2022-2023, with the coach/athlete ratios reviewed after the season is over.
