In summary, the Resolution Authorizing Suspension of Enforcement of Certain COVID-19 Mitigation Measures and Approving Superintendent’s Authority Related to Pandemic Operations for 2021-2022 School Year authorizes the superintendent to create a local conditional mitigation plan and begin to delayer other mitigations, as deemed appropriate. VI.C. Foreign Language Spring Travel Update
Description:
The administration made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s spring break trips. It was a tough decision because we know how much excitement and anticipation students and parents had for these trips and the financial investments that families made. All of that was at the forefront as we have made efforts to postpone, reschedule, re-plan, and make accommodations for overseas travel the past two years.
Despite all of that work, we have deemed school-sponsored foreign travel is not safe at this time with both Spain and France having a Level 4 "Do No Travel" Advisory in effect by the Department of State due to Terrorism, Civil Unrest, and Health. The District will assist families in resolving financial implications for the trip cancellation with tour management company, ACIS. |
VI.D. Overnight Travel **
Description:
The Grant Future Business Leaders of America chapter will have their State competition April 1-2 in Springfield. They are requesting for approximately 22 students, their sponsor, and a chaperone to depart on March 31 and return the evening of April 2. With registration, hotel, and meals, the cost to the District will be $8,212.74.
The softball team is requesting to travel to Rantoul from March 31 to April 2 to compete in 3 games over spring break. Approximately 14 players and 3 coaches will travel. The total cost of $3,020 will be paid with activity funds. Recommend approval of the overnight travel requests as presented. |
