  • The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees. Specific individuals who serve as independent contractors in an educational setting or specific volunteers of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1).
  • Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2)
  • Security procedures and the use of personnel and equipment to respond to an actual, a threatened, or a reasonably potential danger to the safety of employees, students, staff the public or public property. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(8).

Provide Public Comment Verbally by Attending the Meeting (Virtually):
We have created a public comment sign-up form so that members of the public can join the Board of Education meeting through zoom to provide public comment verbally. 
  • Register for Citizen Statement using the sign-up form. 
  • The Citizen Statement registration form will be open for collecting registrations on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 6:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. in advance of the Board of Education meeting.
  • To confirm your participation in the meeting, you will receive further instructions and the Zoom Link by email.

Provide Public Comment with Written Statement:
If you are unable to join the meeting to provide public comment verbally via Zoom, you may
submit a citizen statement to be read into the record during the second opportunity for Citizen Statement at the end of the meeting.
  • Citizen Statements must be sent to Citizen@dist50.net starting at 7:00 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2021. (Registration before 7:00 p.m. will be reserved for verbal comments during the first opportunity for citizen statements at the beginning of the meeting.)
  • If the statement is submitted outside of this timeframe, it will still be provided to the Board of Education, but it will not be read into the record during the meeting.
  • Written statements to the Board of Education that are submitted under these parameters will be read during the second Citizen Statement agenda item at the end of the meeting.
