Request approval to accept the notice of resignation from Mr. Sam Weiss from the position of full-time Science Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Mr. Weiss was hired at the April 2018 board meeting due to a Science Teacher (Mr. Brian Eppley) who will not be returning next year. Mr. Weiss has rescinded his acceptance of this position.

Request approval to hire Ms. Kori Bowns for the position as full-time Science Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements. This position is available due to the resignation of Mr. Sam Weiss. Ms. Bowns will be paid at MA Step 2, $66,279 per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to hire Ms. Jessica Nall for the position of Assistant Principal of Teaching and Learning for the 2018-2019 school year pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements. This administrative position will replace the Director of Activities formerly held by Mr. James Rodriguez. Mrs. Nall will sign an 12-month contract with a base salary of $110,000.

Request approval to hire Mr. Michael Miceli for the position as full-time Math teacher for the 2018-2019 school year pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements. This position is available due to a reduction of the teaching load for Mr. Scott Ball who has accepted a position as the Title I funded Technology Coach. Mr. Miceli will be paid at BA Step 0, $56,169 per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to hire the following Summer School 2018 Teachers. All teachers have the appropriate certificates and have successfully competed pre-employment requirements. Employment is based on need. The pay rate is $36.34 per hour from 6/4/18 through 6/30/18 and $37.10 per hour starting 7/1/18 per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

This position is available due to the retirement of Mrs. Pam Cooper and the decision to replace the Senior Health Aid position with a Certified School Nurse position. Mrs. Stout will be paid at Step 4 MA Lane, $72,593 per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to hire Ms. Ivonne Nino for the position of full-time Health Aide for the 2018-2019 school year pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements. This position is available due to the resignation of Mrs. Janet Lihosit. Ms. Nino will be paid $31.07 per hour based on the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

This position is available due to the resignation of Mrs. Janet Lihosit. Ms. Nino will be paid $30.31 per hour based on the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to hire Mr. Robert Reynolds for the position of Third Shift Custodian effective pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements. This position is available due to the retirement of Mr. George McFadden. Mr. Reynolds will be paid an hourly rate of $16.55, which includes a third shift differential adjustment of $.55 per hour per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to hire Ms. Vernita Miracle-Pond for the position of Third Shift Custodian effective immediately pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements. This position is available due to the resignation of Mr. Bryan Saper. Ms. Miracle-Pond will be paid an hourly rate of $16.55, which includes a third shift differential of $.55 per hour per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to hire Ms. Kristen Shimko for the position of Assistant Girls Basketball coach pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements effective the 2018-2019 school year. This position is available due to the resignation of the previous coach, Ms. Patricia Kotsiovos. Ms. Shimko will be paid $8,464 for the winter season (14.40% of BA Step 1 ($58,777), Year 1).

Request retroactive approval for Sponsors, Ms. Lindsae Baldes and Mr. Nick Berrios to chaperone the Journalism overnight trip at the IHSA State Finals in Charleston, IL from April 26 through April 27, 2018. The three (3) students and sponsors spent the night at the Unique Suites Hotel in Charleston, IL. The approximate cost to the district is $525.00.

Request approval for the Argo Redbirds to use the softball field on Saturdays and Sundays from May 27 - August 12, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Mondays from 5:00 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. The recommendation is no charge to the organization pending 75% residency. The organizations current certificate of insurance expires 9/7/18.

Request approval for Sponsors, Mr. Gary Feltman and Mrs. Nemeh Khatib to chaperone the Special Olympics Track team to compete in the championship at Illinois State University from June 15 through June 17, 2018. This event will require an overnight stay at the dormitories at Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. The approximate cost to the district is $2,100.
