Request approval to hire Mr. James Pullia for the substitute FMLA Social Studies position pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements beginning March 15, 2018 through May 10, 2018. Mr. Pullia will cover Mr. Gene Poull's class while out on FMLA and will be paid $22 per hour for six (6) hours of instruction and one (1) hour of planning time per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to hire Ms. Nicole Romanov for the substitute FMLA English position pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements beginning approximately April 20, 2018 through the end of the 2017-18 school year. Ms. Romanov will cover Mrs. Laura Jervis' classes while out on FMLA and will be paid $22 per hour for six (6) hours of instruction and one (I) hour planning time per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval for Mrs. Karina Salgado, Secretary to the Director of Athletics to take a leave of absence for the birth of her daughter beginning on or around June 4, 2018 and end (pending good health) on August 26, 2018.

Request approval to hire Ms. Sylvia Kowal for the Confidential Secretary/Payroll position effective April 1, 2018 pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements. This position is available due to the retirement of Ms. Virginia Frees at the end of 2017-18 school year. Ms. Kowal will be on a sixty-day probationary period at a pay rate of $30 per hour with no insurance benefits until successful completion of her probation.

Request approval to hire Mr. Tim Connelly for the position of Head Football coach for the 2018-19 school year. This hire is due to the resignation of the previous coach, Mr. Todd Evans. Mr. Connelly will be paid $11,105 (18.00% of BA Step 6 ($61,696), Year 10) for the fall season.

Request approval to hire Mr. Mateusz Dobryzynski, the current Assistant Boys Tennis coach, for the position of Head Boys Tennis coach for the 2017-18 school year. This hire is due to the FMLA leave of Gene Poull and is only for the 2018 season. Mr. Dobryzynski will be paid $9,265 (16.00% of BA Step 1 ($57,909), Year 1) for the spring season.

Request approval to move Mrs. Lauren Dergance, Secretary to the Director of Activities from probationary status to regular full-time status effective February 23, 2018 with full vested rights in all programs based on the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to move the Director of Educational Support Services Administrative Assistant (Ms. Ellen Pauley) from a ten (10) month position to a twelve (12) month position effective immediately.
|
Request approval to hire the following College Entrance Exam Prep Instructors for the 2017-18 school year. These teachers will be preparing students for the SAT College Entrance Exam and will work on an as-needed basis with varied hours, approximately ten (10) afternoons and ten (10) evenings. The instructors will be paid $36.34 per hour based on the Collectively Bargained Agreement. The recommended instructors are Francine Blake, Nick Borowicz, Allison Feeney, Matt Le Van, Evelyn Sanchez, Emily Sawyer, Erica Sobanski, Beth Whittinghill, and Donna Zadlo.

Request approval to hire Mr. Sam Buonomo as a musical technician. The amount budgeted is $1,500 and will be paid from the Pro-Tech Drama account. Mr. Buonomo has successfully completed pro-tech pre-employment requirements.

Request approval to hire Ms. Angel Grady as the musical choreographer. The amount budgeted is $1,500 and will be paid from the Pro-Tech Drama account. Ms. Grady has successfully completed pro-tech pre-employment requirements.

Request approval to hire Ms. Guadalupe Sosa as the musical technician pending successful completion of pro-tech pre-employment requirements. The amount budgeted is $500 and will be paid from the Pro-Tech Drama account.

Request approval to hire the following people to accompany our 60+ students attending the IHSA Solo and Ensemble competitions on March 3, 2018. The pay rate will be $30 per hour for practice and competition and has been budgeted out of the Pro-Tech budget. Accompanists will not exceed twelve (12) hours. Pay will not exceed $360 per accompanist. All Pro-Techs will complete the necessary pre-employment requirements prior to the competition. The recommended hires are: Alexis Bourke, Brian Goodman, Chrissy Putlak, Betty Quigley and Cheryl Skoda.

Request approval to hire Angel Alvarez as a paid student aide in the PE department for the remainder of the 2017-18 school year. Mr. Alvarez will work one (1) hour per day, five (5) days per week and paid at the minimum wage rate of $8.25 per hour.

Request approval to hire Kaylee Gajeski as a paid student aide in the Main Office East for the remainder of the 2017-18 school year. Kaylee worked in the counseling office during 1st semester. Ms. Gajeski will work one (1) hour per day, five (5) days per week, and will be paid at the minimum wage of $8.25 per hour.

Request approval for Angel Grady, sponsor, and volunteer, Jeanette Soebbing to chaperone 18 members of the Guard/Flags to participate in the Midwest Color Guard Circuit Championships on Saturday, April 7th. The championships will be held at the La Porte High School, located in La Porte, Indiana. The cost to the district is $1,050 for transportation and meals.

Request approval for Lucian Bogdan, sponsor, to chaperone the Argo Chess team (12 students) to participate in the United States Chess Federation tournament in Columbus, Ohio from April 26-29, 2018. Their participation will require an overnight stay in Columbus on April 25, 26, 27 and 28, 2018. Since there is a female student, a female chaperone will be needed. All costs will be covered by the Chess Club through fundraising.

Request approval for the Gremio Junior Soccer Club to use Memorial Stadium/Soccer Field to use the Frank Stout Field for the following dates: Memorial Stadium - Saturdays, March 1-April 29, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Soccer Field - Sundays, March 1 - June 30, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The recommendation is no charge to the group for use of the facilities pending a roster of participants verifying 75% residency prior to use. A current certificate of insurance which expires on 9/1/18 is on file in the Activities Office.
