8.4. CERTIFY PROPOSED TAX (Action)
Description:
Levy Limitation and Certification - School district property tax levies are limited by state law. The Minnesota Department of Education computes the levy limitation for each school district. The school district then certifies the levy, which is sent to the county auditor and the MDE by September 30. The
county then sends out the tax statements, collects the tax, and makes payments to the school districts. Recommended Motion: To approve the proposed 2024 Payable 2025 Property Tax Levy to the maximum amount and certify to the County Auditor and to the Minnesota Department of Education by September 27, 2024.
