IV. Public Comment

Description:
At this time, the President of the Board of Education will recognize visitors and ask if any citizen of the community is interested in speaking to members of the Board of Education. Time allowed will generally be limited to three minutes for each individual, unless waived by the President. All individuals who wish to address the Board of Education must sign up in advance. The President may limit the opportunity to address the Board in cases where a person has previously addressed the Board on the same or related subject. Issues brought to the Board prior to being channeled through the proper chain of command will be referred back to the appropriate level.

Description:

Description:
It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the payment of bills listed, received during the month of December 2022, to be paid during the month of January 2023, and quick pays during the month of January.

VI.4. Approval of Destruction of Audio Tapes from Executive Session
Description:
It is recommended the Board of Education approve the destruction of recordings from the Executive Session in June of 2020.

VI.5. Approval of Personnel Change

VI.5.a. Personal - Licensed - Retirement
Description:
Alan Dassow has submitted a letter of intent to retire effective at the end of the 2026-2027 school year. Mr. Dassow will retire under Option 1 of the 2022-2028 EMEA Collective Bargaining Agreement, with 20 years of district service. Mr. Dassow’s current assignment is District Social/Emotional Coordinator.
Susan Vanherzeele has submitted a letter of intent to retire effective at the end of the 2026-2027 school year. Ms. Vanherzeele will retire under Option 1 of the 2022-2028 EMEA Collective Bargaining Agreement, with 30 years of district service. Ms. VanHerzeele’s current assignment is Glenview Intervention Teacher. |
VI.5.b. Personnel - Classified - Retirement
Description:
Phyllis Trommer submitted a letter of intent to retire at the end of the 2022-23 school year. Ms. Trommer’s current position is as an instructional aide at Wells Elementary. She retires with 10 years of district service.

Description:
Abby Ill has been employed as a Special Education teacher at Bowlesburg Elementary, effective January 2, 2023. Ms. Ill was previously employed as an instructional aide at Hillcrest Elementary. |

Description:
Lisa Falcon has been employed as an instructional aide at Bowlesburg Elementary, effective January 9, 2023. |
VI.5.e. Personnel - Licensed - Leave of Absence
Description:
Kristina Dodge has requested unpaid leave for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year, following the birth of her child in March and the use of allowable sick and personal leave. Ms. Dodge’s current assignment is District Psychologist at Ridgewood Elementary.
