IV. Public Comment
Description:
At this time, the President of the Board of Education will recognize visitors and ask if any citizen of the community is interested in speaking to members of the Board of Education. Time allowed will generally be limited to three minutes for each individual, unless waived by the President. All individuals who wish to address the Board of Education must sign up in advance. The President may limit the opportunity to address the Board in cases where a person has previously addressed the Board on the same or related subject. Issues brought to the Board prior to being channeled through the proper chain of command will be referred back to the appropriate level.

V. FOIA Requests
Description:
The Board of Education received two FOIA requests which were handled in a timely manner. The first was a commerical request for the Business Office from SmartProcure and the other was from the IEA requesting information about district employees not in a non-bargaining unit.

VI.1. Approval of Minutes
Description:
It is recommended that the minutes from the September 28, 2020 budget public hearing and regular meeting be approved.

VI.2. Approval of Treasurer's Report
Description:
It is recommended that the Treas. Report for September 2020 be approved subject to audit.

VI.3. Approval of Accounts Payable
Description:
It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the payment of bills listed, received during the month of September 2020, to be paid during the month of October 2020 and quick pays during the month of September 2020.

Description:
It is recommended the Board of Education approve destruction of recordings from the Executive Session on December 10, 2018.

VI.5.a. Personnel - Classified - Employment
Description:
Bachir Djechiche has been employed as a Home Language Tutor at Ridgewood Elementary, effective September 28, 2020. Sherri Hamilton has been employed as a Technology User Support Specialist effective October 5, 2020. Andrea Dewaele has been employed as Office/Library Aide at Bowlesburg Elementary, effective October 14, 2020. Raiza Lopez has been employed as a District Bilingual Parent Involvement Coordinator, effective October 16, 2020. Ms. Lopez will retain her position as a playground aide at Bowlesburg Elementary. |
VI.5.b. Personnel - Classified - Leave of Absence
Description:
James Elliott has requested unpaid leave from his position as a custodian, from September 24, 2020 through December 31, 2020, for medical reasons. Hannah Kupferschmid has requested unpaid leave from her position as Preschool Family Educator at Wells Elementary, following the birth of her child in December and the allowable use of sick leave. She requests to return to work on March 22, 2021. |

XII. Executive Session
Description:
In accordance with Chapter 5, Act 120, Section 2, of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, an Executive Session will be held to discuss:
Litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular public body has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that an action is probable or imminent, in which case the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the minutes of the closed meetings. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11). Discussion of minutes of meetings lawfuly closed under the Open Meetings Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutes or semi-annual review of the minutes as mandated by Section 2.06. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2). The purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, including meetings held for the purpose of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5). |
