1. Call To Order
This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated on the agenda. |

3. Citizen's Comments
This portion of the agenda is for citizens to address any questions or comments to the Board. The Board will listen, take comments and questions under advisement, and not respond at this time. The presiding officer will refer questions to the superintendent for research and response. When called on by the Board President, the citizen may address the Board for up to three (3) minutes during the citizen comment period. Citizen comment timeframe is limited to 30 minutes. |

4.A. Student Expulsion - Closed Session Requested
Description:
Administration is recommending that the student involved in Administrative Hearing #24-0515 be expelled for 180 school days. Petition for reinstatement may be initiated after 150 schools days (January 9, 2025) for possible reinstatement 180 school days following the date of expulsion (February 27, 2025). In order to be considered for reinstatement the expelled student must not be in violation of any Niles Community Schools code of conduct or Michigan State Law. Adam Burtsfield or Jennifer Shabazz will answer any questions.
SAMPLE MOTION I move - "that the student involved in Administrative Hearing #24-0515 be expelled for 180 school days. 4.B. Long Term Suspension - Closed Session Requested
Description:
Administration is recommending that the student involved in Administrative Hearing #24-0910 be suspended for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year with the option to enroll in virtual programming. In order to be considered for reinstatement the suspended student must show excellent participation and success in virtual programming and not be in violation of any Niles Community Schools code of conduct or Michigan State Law. Adam Burtsfield or Jeenifer Shabazz will answer any questions.
