1. Opening of Regular Meeting & Roll Call
Description:
This is a meeting of the Southfield Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not to be considered as a community meeting. There is one opportunity for public participation during the meeting and comments are limited to three minutes per individual. The Board will listen to comments, but may not respond during the meeting. If you wish to address the Board, please submit a comment card immediately.

Description:
Under the Michigan Compiled Law, Open Meetings Act, Section 15.268, Section 8 (e) allows a school board to meet in closed session to consult with its attorney regarding trial or settlement strategy in connection with specific pending litigation, but only if an open meeting would have a detrimental financial effect on the litigation or settlement position of the public body.
