I.C. Board Applicant Interview: A mid-term vacancy on the Eaton RESA Board of Education occurred due to the resignation of Max Baxter received on April 22, 2022. As a result, one applicant, Alejandro (Alex) Gonzalez, a Charlotte resident, has been recommended by the Charlotte Public Schools Board of Education to fill the vacancy and will be interviewed.
I.D. Appointment of New Board Member: Based on the results of the preceding interview process, the Board is recommending the mid-term appointment of Alejandro (Alex) Gonzalez to fill the vacant Eaton RESA Board seat through June 30, 2023 at which time a Board election will be held to fill the remaining term of this seat through June 30, 2029.
I.E. Oath of Office: Based on the Board's action to appoint Alejandro (Alex) Gonzalez to fill the mid-term vacancy, he will take the Oath of Office to serve on the Eaton RESA Board of Education.
I.F. Re-Election of Board Officers for 2021-22: With the April 22, 2022 resignation of Board President Max Baxter, Superintendent, Sean Williams, is requesting the Board to fill the vacancy and subsequent vacancies.

I.H.2)a. 2022 National Community Schools and Family Engagement (CSxFE) Conference: Melea Belton, Mental Health Services Supervisor, is requesting Board approval for a Behavior/Mental Health Specialist to attend the 2022 CSxFE Conference in Los Angeles, California, from June 1-3, 2022. Costs are covered by grant funds.
I.H.2)b. Classroom180 Live: Melea Belton, Mental Health Services Supervisor, is requesting Board approval for two Behavior/Mental Health Specialists to attend “Classroom180 Live – A Two-and-a-Half-Day In-Person Intensive Training” in Denver, Colorado, from June 9-11, 2022. Costs are covered by grant funds.
I.H.2)c. Best Practices and Innovations Conference 2022: Kathleen Szuminski, Assistant Superintendent for Career & Technical Education, is requesting Board approval to present at the 2022 National Career Leaders Association (NCLA)/Association for Career & Technical Education’s (ACTE) Best Practices and Innovations Conference in North Falmouth, Massachusetts, from September 28-30, 2022 with Leah Melichar, LCC K-12 Director. The panel considered many excellent proposals and theirs was selected as one of the top 25 invited to present. The conference session is titled Partnering for Student Success: How Post-Secondary, Secondary, and Industry Create High Quality CTE Programs.
I.H.3) Public Relations/Communications Service Agreement: The term of Eaton RESA's service agreement with Ingham Intermediate School District (ISD) for Public Relations and Communication Services ends on June 30, 2022. As a result, the Superintendent has been working with Ingham ISD on a new three-year service agreement for the term July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025 in an amount not to exceed $65,175 for each consecutive school year including 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 with the option to extend the agreement for one additional year in 2025-26. These services directly align to and support the implementation of the District's mission, vision, and strategic plan goals as well as provide targeted marketing and support for Career Preparation Center programs/services.
I.H.4) Stander Donation for Meadowview School: Ryan Harp, Assistant Superintendent for Special Education, received a letter from a Grand Ledge Public Schools parent stating that he would like to donate a stander to Meadowview School. The stander is brand new and valued at $6,000. As per Board Policy #7230, this donation requires acceptance by the Board of Education since it is in an amount larger than $500. Ryan is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to accept this generous donation.

I.H.5) Cash Donation for Eaton RESA Autism Programming: Ryan Harp, Assistant Superintendent for Special Education, received a letter from Tom and Rayleen Lawler, uncle and aunt of Heather Morse, Eaton RESA Physical Therapist, stating that they would like to donate $5,000 to Eaton RESA to support programming for students with autism. As per Board Policy #7230, this donation requires acceptance by the Board of Education since it is in an amount larger than $500. Ryan is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to accept this generous donation.

I.H.6) Vehicle Donation for the Automotive Technology Program: Michael Reynolds, Career Preparation Center Principal, has been working with Adam Pinkerton at Ford Motor Company who would like to donate a 2005 Ford F-150 to the Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center’s Automotive Technology Program. The vehicle would be used for instructional purposes with students and is valued at $13,000. As per Board Policy #7230, this gift requires acceptance by the Board of Education since it is in an amount larger than $500. Michael is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to accept this generous donation.
I.H.7) Relevant Academy Business Service Agreement: Eaton RESA has been providing business services for Relevant Academy since fiscal year 2018-19. The current service agreement ends June 30, 2022. Under the current agreement, fees are 3% of foundation, or a $10,000 minimum. A continuation of services is desired. Tina Monroe, Executive Director of Finance & Operations, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute a two-year service agreement from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024.
I.I. Information Items
I.I.1) Superintendent Self-Assessment and Evidence: As the initial component of the Board’s process for conducting an annual performance evaluation of the District’s Superintendent, Sean Williams will provide the Board his self-assessment, a summary of accomplishments/evidence and student growth data.
I.I.2) 2021-22 Final Budget Revisions: Tina Monroe, Executive Director of Finance & Operations, will provide information on the final budget amendments for the 2021-22 fiscal year, which will be brought to the Board for approval at the June 15, 2022, meeting.
