Public Participation in the MAISD Board of Education Organizational Meeting
 

Call for the nomination and election of President of the MAISD Board of Education for a term ending June 30, 2026.
 

Call for the nomination and election of Vice President of the MAISD Board of Education for a term ending June 30, 2026.
 

Call for the nomination and election of Treasurer of the MAISD Board of Education for a term ending June 30, 2026.
 

Call for the nomination and election of Secretary of the MAISD Board of Education for a term ending June 30, 2026.
 

Adopt a resolution establishing the MAISD Board of Education meeting schedule for 2025-26.

Approve depositories for MAISD funds for the 2025-26 school year as follows:

• Fifth Third Bank
• Best Financial Credit Union
• ChoiceOne Bank

Approve MILAF (Michigan Liquid Asset Fund) as depository for MAISD investment funds.

Appoint Thrun Law Firm as legal counsel for the MAISD Board of Education and for legal matters specific to the Revised School Code for the 2025-26 school year.

Approve legal counsel for specialized legal matters for the 2025-26 school year as follows:

• Clark Hill PLC - legal matters specific to employee relations or as needed; and legal matters specific to special education.

Authorize the MAISD Board Vice President and the MAISD Board Treasurer as signees on all checks for MAISD financial accounts with the exception that only the Treasurer's signature be required for payroll checks and authorize the use of facsimile signatures on all checks drawn on the financial accounts.

Authorize the Superintendent to approve grant and project applications which seek funding from outside sources (i.e. governmental agencies, foundations, etc.)

Authorize the Superintendent of the MAISD to sign all employment contracts on behalf of the Board of Education.
