III.A. Xzavier Odom, ELHS Senior, received a $5,000 scholarship at the Greater Lansing Area Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission's Annual Luncheon on Monday, January 16. Xzavier earned this award for an essay he submitted in their annual contest. Xavier will read his award-winning essay now.

III.B. AP Honor Roll Award - Jason Feig from the College Board will present this award to the school district.
|
III.C. Students for Females in STEM - Congratulations to the East Lansing High School women involved in the Students for Females in STEM club who successfully engaged Governor Snyder in a conversation about K12 computer science education. Samantha White, Taylor Murray, Sophie Steiner and Katie Knox met with Governor Snyder in August to advocate for K-12 computer science education in Michigan. Governor Snyder mentioned the great work of these these outstanding ELPS students in his State of the State Address recently.

III.D. MacDonald Middle School students who were selected for the All-State Band and Orchestra will be performing in Grand Rapids. They are: Malina Oliver, Aidan Menzies, John Ahlin, Nina Largey, Elisabeth Baumann and Eliza Lane.
