Description:  This is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting.

Description:  The meeting was noticed by way of publication in the Waterford Post on Thursday, July 21, 2022, and by posting in the District Office, at Entrance #19, and on the District's website. Minutes from the May 23, 2022 meeting were published in the Waterford Post on Thursday, June 30, 2022 and on the District's website.

5.D. Approval of Academic Standards
Description:  State statutes require that school boards notify the parents/guardians of students enrolled in the school district of the student academic standards that will be in effect for the school year. Boards must provide the notice annually, prior to the beginning of the school term (September 1). The method of this notification is a local option. The school board must also annually include an item on the agenda of the first school board meeting of the school year (the first board meeting after July 1) that clearly identifies the student academic standards adopted by the board under section 118.30(1g)(a)1 of the state statutes that will be in effect for the school year.  Information is enclosed.

5.E. 2022-23 Employee Handbook
Description:  There were no substantive revisions made to the Employee Handbook for 2022-23, and many of the updates were for clarification of existing practices. A list of changes is included and all revisions/changes are shown in the handbook.

6. Student Recognition
6.A. Graduation Request
Description:  Ava Schmus has completed coursework to meet graduation requirements. A letter from School Counselor Amy Meyers is attached requesting that the Board approve granting Ava a diploma. Ava will be at the board meeting, along with her parents.

7. Resident Comments
Description:  At this time the board would like to invite any member of the audience to stand with comments about items of interest or concern that do or do not appear on the agenda this evening. Please begin by stating your name and address. It would be appreciated if you would limit your comments to three minutes so that we can keep the meeting moving in a timely fashion and allow others an opportunity to speak. We ask that you remember that Wisconsin law prohibits us from discussing specific employees or their job performance. Thank you for your support of our school district.
8. Information Items
8.A. Election and Survey Results Re: Post Referendum Discussion and 10-Year Facility Plan
Description:  Nexxus Solutions has conducted a phone survey of district voters to learn why the previous referendum failed and is preparing to review voter turnout data.

A handful of small facility improvement projects that fell within the budget remaining at the 2021-22 fiscal year-end are underway. The board can discuss the next steps of the facility plan as it relates to a possible referendum question.

9.A. Health and Wellness Policies - Second Review
Description:  Sophia Schoenfeld and Kennedy Francois reviewed two board policies and multiple administrative guidelines as part of a summer internship.  The two policies are presented for Board action.
