VI.A.1. Benson Dog Park Status

VI.A.1.a. $35,000 in grant dollars are secured; a project ordinance is in place (Kim Pickett)

VI.A.1.b. Roadway/ driveway cut approval has been secured from NCDOT

VI.A.1.c. Material pricing and construction will kick-off ASAP. 

VI.A.1.d. Estimated time for completion is 90-120 days

VI.A.2. Lee Street Complex- Building Security Status

VI.A.2.a. Materials have been ordered; labor to install plywood in process

VI.A.2.b. Asbestos inspection and testing is in process (Braston Newton)

VI.A.2.c. Demolition pricing will be secured, once asbestos status is determined 

VI.B. Large Project Status Updates

VI.B.1. $20,000 NC Downtown Revitalization grant

VI.B.1.a. High speed fiber and/or WiFi internet improvements.

VI.B.1.b. Project scope and details due to the state on September 15, 2017

VI.B.1.c. Anticipated project zone is the Main Street Corridor; from the Singing Grove to South Wall Street.

VI.B.2. $80,000 NC Emergency repair grant (backflow check valve project)

VI.B.2.a. Project scope and bid documents are in progress with area contractors

VI.B.3. $3.1 million USDA Pump Station and sanitary sewer line upgrades

VI.B.3.a. Construction begins on August 21, 2017 with a total construction period of 240-days

VI.B.3.b. The Hampton Inn pump station milestone is 120-days from August 21, 2017

VI.B.4. $150,000 AIA sanitary sewer system assessment grant

VI.B.4.a. Council awarded contract administration services to TWC on 8/8/17

VI.B.4.b. TWC is working to complete the project between Sept 2017 and June 2018

VI.B.5. $875,000 NC 16 Funds to perform sanitary sewer I & I repairs

VI.B.5.a. Work can begin upon the completion of the AIA study (summer 2018).

VI.B.6. $750,000 FEMA funding for the WWTP repairs

VI.B.6.a. Construction work is being bid and will begin with Council approval(s). 

VI.B.7. Golden Leaf Grant application of $500,000 to repair storm water failures during Hurricane Matthew
